MAY 29 1970, MAY 30 1979 Children at Cottonwood Creek Ele­mentary, 11200 E. Orchard Ave., enjoyed a different kind of field day this year. Called a Spring Fling, it offered puppet and magic shows, facepainting and a variety of imaginative, but non-competitive games. Nobody won any ribbons, but every­one acted like a winner . . . except, maybe, for the sixth-grade boys who were beaten three times running by sixth - grade girls in tug-of-wars.
