Japan will be purchasing more F-35 fighter jets and new SM-3 Block IIA ballistic missile interceptors from the United States.Trump and Abe Abe saying, “Japan will shoot down a North Korean missile, if necessary. Japan and the US are working closely together on missile interception.” Trump and Abe saying, “ Japan and the US will continue talks in our economic dialogue framework. President Trump and I will play a leading role in creating high-level rules on trade and investment not just for the 2 countries but for the entire Asia-Pacific region. Maintaining and strengthening maritime order in the Indian and Pacific oceans is crucial for regional peace and stability. We have agreed to bolster cooperation to bring about free and open Indian and Pacific oceans".
