Japan Weather Agency : May Not Natural Earthquake

TOKYO, JAPAN - JAN. 6: The Japan Meteorological Agency said it detected seismic waves from northeastern part of North Korea on January 6. The agency said it observed a temblor, occurring shortly before 10:30 a.m. Japan time, with a magnitude of 5.1, at the depth of zero meters. The Tokyo agency added that "it may not have been a natural earthquake," judging from the type of the waves. It also said these waves are similar to those detected in 2006, 2009, and 2013 when North Korea conducted a nuclear bomb test. The origins and the sizes of all these tremors are almost identical, the agency said.
