(Original Caption) Deng Hsiao-ping, vice-premier of the State Council, left Peking on January 26 by special plane for an official, friendly visit to Burma at the invitation of U Ne Win, president of the Socialist Republic of the Union of Burma and chairman of the Council of the State, and U Maung Maung Kha, prime minister of the Government of the Socialist Republic of the Union of Burma. He was seen off at the airport by party and state leaders Li Hsien-nien, Chi Teng-kuei, Wu Teh, U Chiu-li, Chen Hsi-lien, Keng Piao, Chen Mu-hua, and Teng Ying-chao and Wang Chen and others.
