India Launches Needle-less M-RNA Covid 19 Vaccine That Can Be Stored In Ordinary Refrigerator
NEW DELHI, INDIA JUNE 24: Dr Sanjay Singh, CEO, Gennova Biopharmaceuticals Ltd, Pune poses with a vial of the vaccine, India's needle-less M-RNA Covid 19 vaccine against the SARS COV 2 Virus that can be stored in ordinary refrigerator and does not need ultra high cold chain, this worlds first vaccine of its class was launched on June 24, 2023 in New Delhi, India. Called GEMCOVAC-OM it is an Omicron-specific mRNA-based booster vaccine developed using the indigenous platform technology by Gennova Biopharmaceuticals Ltd, Pune. It is a thermostable vaccine, which does not require ultra-cold chain infrastructure used for other approved mRNA-based vaccines like Moderna and Pfizer, making it easy for deployment pan India.
