Hupmobile car, (c1925-c1935?).
Hupmobile car, (c1925-c1935?). The Hupp Motor Car Co was founded by Robert Craig Hupp in 1909, and the first Hupmobile was exhibited at the Detroit Motor Show of that year. The company was a major player in the American motor industry in its early years, and in 1928, 65,000 cars were sold. However the onset of the Depression coincided with the company expanding its capacity, and this, together with a boardroom struggle, plunged the company into difficulties from which it never recovered. The last Hupmobile left the factory in 1940. (Photo by National Motor Museum/Heritage Images/Getty Images)
