PFLP militant with hostage passengers and crew from hijacked planes diverted to remote desert airfield in Jordan
In September 1970 PFLP gunmen hijacked 3 passenger jet airliners and diverted them to Dawson Field, remote desert airfield near Amman Jordan, where they kept the passengers hostage for several days while they negotiated with King Hussein.
Eventually all hostages were released unharmed, but the jets were blown up.
