Ted Kluszewski Sliding Into Home Plate
(Original Caption) It's an error for Giant catcher Ray Katt (right), as the ball bounds away and Cincinnati slugger Ted Kluszewski slides in almost flat on his back to score a run in the fourth inning at the Polo Grounds. Ted made it from second on Wally Post's single. Don Mueller's throw got away from Katt, allowing Post to make second. Later, in the eight frame, Katt established a record for passed balls, with a total of four for the inning.
