ME/ROTC WOODBRIDGE, VA 6/2/05/05 #166861 BY: MARGARET THOMAS TWP Local Veterans groups and merchants raised more than $3000 to install a new war memorial at Gar-Field High School honoring three alumni, Richard Yates (Vietnam 1969); Brian Medina (Iraq 2004); and David Ruhren (Iraq 2004), who died in battle. The three were remembered at a dedication ceremony today in the main lobby and the flag-draped memorial was unveiled. FAMILY MEMBERS DECLINED TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED DURING ANY PART OF THE EVENT. Sgt. Major Carl Holcomb offers a salute at the newly unveiled memorial. Flanking the memorial are (left) Cadet Capt. James Steele, 16, and Cadet Elizabeth Soto. Barely visible behind Elizabeth is Cadet Capt. Patrick Clouser. (All CQs) All cadets are members of the Gar-Field Marine ROTC, (Photo by Margaret Thomas/The The Washington Post via Getty Images)
