Vyshyvanka Day In Odesa
ODESA, UKRAINE - MAY 16: Men and women in vyshyvankas and with the flag of Ukraine walk through the park on May 16, 2024 in Odesa, Ukraine. Vyshyvanka Day is an international holiday that aims to preserve the Ukrainian folk traditions of creating and wearing ethnic embroidered clothes called vyshyvanka. It is celebrated on the third Thursday of May. Vyshyvankas are, along with pysankas (traditional Ukrainian Easter eggs), one of the best known symbols of Ukrainian culture. In honor of the holiday, an action organized by the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs and the Odesa Regional Center for Patriotic Education of Children and Youth was held in the Taras Shevchenko Park of Culture and Recreation.
