(Original Caption) 5/15/1975-New York, New York- Amiri Baraka (Leroi Jones) a man of many social, political and literary hats, dons that of playwrght for his first full length production entitled, "Sidnee Poet Heroical", a spoff upon the career of actor Sidney Portier and his acceptance into white society. The playy is acted between slides and film clips reenacted by the cast of some of Mr. Portiers most famous film roles. The picture shows Amiri Baraka with standing with the cast of the play during a dress rehearsal.
