(Original Caption) 7/20/1978-New York, New York- Post office workers carrying placards demonstrate outside the main Post Office at 34th Street and 8th Avenue as a potential, nation-wide postal strike deadline of midnigtht, July 20th, approaches. The postal service has all but ruled out the possibility of a nation-wide strike by all postal crafts and is preparing mainly for possible, sporadic work stoppages in scattered areas, it was learned July 19th. The workers' current contract expires at midnight, July 20th.
