(Original Caption) 8/31/1945- Oldenburg, Germany- Field Marshal Sir Bernard L. Montgomery is pictured as he reviewed members of the Third Canadian Infantry Division and later presented medals. This ceremony took place shortly after Field Marshall Montgomery's plane crashed at an airfield near Oldenburg in which he received a cracked vertebrae and his pilot Flt. Lt. Martin, slight bruises. Montgomery carried on with his schedule after receiving hospital treatment.
