Overturned Locomotive
Onlookers gawk as a railroad locomotive lies on its side in a rundown area near a railyard somewhere in the American midwest, early 20th Century. A freight boxcar from the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis, and Omaha rail line stands nearby. The CStPM&O (CMO) existed from 1880 to 1972 and was from 1882 a subsidiary of the Chicago & North Western Railway (CNW) and all it's functions, track, and rolling stock were absorbed into the CNW by 1957. In 1995 Union Pacific (UP) bought the CNW. (Photo by Vintage Images/Getty Images)
