Portrait of Elderly Suspect in Murder of Daughter's Beau

(Original Caption) Pictured is John Nardo of Little Sewickley, near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who was being held on a District Attorney's detainer following the death of William Cavin, 61 year old suitor of Mrs. Marian Nardo, his 27 year old divorcee daughter. Nardo, according to his story, had repeatedly told Cavin to stay away from his daughter and his grounds. Cavin, he said refused and tore down no trespass signs that he erected. Cavin was finally slain as the result of pulling down a no trespass sign to which had been attached a pistol in such a way that at first disturbance it was discharged.
