The Duke Of Windsor's Final Journey Home
The Bearer Party take the coffin of the Duke of Windsor into the chapel at RAF Benson, UK, with the Duke and Duchess of Kent representing HM The Queen, UK, 31st May 1972. The Duke of Windsor made his final journey home to Britain when the Duke's body was flown to RAF Benson in Oxfordshire in the aircraft of The Queen's Flight from Paris. A full military parade was mounted at RAF Benson to greet the coffin. After dark, the coffin will be taken by road to Windsor. The Duke will lie in state at St George's Chapel for two days, and the funeral service on Monday, June 5th will be followed by a private burial at Frogmore.
