Bob Hayes Breaking the Tape of Olympic 100 Meter Dash
(Original Caption) The finish of the Olympic 10 meter final here October 15th shows America's Bob Hayes breaking the tape to tie the world record. Hayes ran the fastest 100 meters in history when he won his semi-final heat in 9.9 seconds, but the performance will not be accepted as a world record because of an excessive tail wind.
