DC youth skate at Fort Dupont Ice Arena

WASHINGTON, DC - NOV18:The Fort Dupont Ice Arena is in it's 20th year and the rink draws kids from all over the city. Most of the skaters are African American girls from Wards 7 and 8 (when it comes to recreation in our area, the focus is usually on boys.) Funding for an expansion was approved by then Mayor Vince Gray but the money has not been allocated by Mayor Bowser. That means kids are being turned away.
