Vietnamese women haul sacks of scrap metal to a waiting...

SEPON, SAVANNAKHET, LAOS - 2006/05/03: Vietnamese women haul sacks of scrap metal to a waiting truck. They are middlemen who buy all manner of war scrap from locals who collect it in the surrounding forests and fields; they then takes truckloads of scrap back to their country to resell to other scrap metal dealers or to smelters. The US heavily bombed the surrounding area during the war, which left a vast amount of bomb scrap and UXO (unexploded ordnance) that locals have incorporated into their daily lives..
