The pyramid was likely constructed somewhere between 15 and 115 AD/CE. Los Guachimontones represents the largest discovered site from the Teuchitlán culture that existed in the Tequila Valley region between 300 BC-900 AD/CE. The modern day township of Teuchitlán and part of Lago de la Vega, its lake, can be seen in the background.
