This large blue lake - some 2 km long and 1 km wide - occupies the crater floor of an extinct volcano whose caldera was formed in a definitive way after the eruption of 1563. This mystical lake, surrounded by high mountains and abundant endemic vegetation, transmits an atmosphere of peace and serenity where beauty reigns. Its waters are transparent, there is a small peninsula and white sand beaches. It has been declared a nature reserve.
