A horse and jockey take part in the Palio of Siena on August 14, 2017 in Siena, Italy. The Palio of Siena is a medieval and very popular horse race which takes place every year on the Piazza del Campo, the famous small square in the center of Siena. Each rider and his horse represents one of the 17 districts, "contrade", of the city and is dressed in the colors and symbols of it. A large parade takes place before each race.This horse race is held twice a year in August in the city of Siena, on the famous place Del Campio.This horse race originated in the Middle Ages and is still very poplar in Italy. On this occasion, the city is celebrated for several days and tourists from around the world come to attend the festivities organized in the city.
