Light micrograph of renal cortical tubules and peritubular capillaries. The larger circles in this picture are tubules of the renal cortex. One can see the cytoplasm (pink) and nuclei (pale purple circles) of the tubules and their basement membranes (black lines). In between the tubules are capillaries (smaller circular structures) known as peritubular capillaries, which supply blood and nutrients to tissue. Jones silver stained tissue section.
