The Río Lobos canyon is located in the province of Soria, in the autonomous community of Castilla y León, Spain.It is a deep limestone canyon formed by an old and intense river erosion of Lobos river. It is located in the mountain ranges that separate the foothills of the Iberian Mountain Range and the high plateau of the Duero. The river is encased from Burgos province and continues to pierce the Cretaceous limestone in Soria province crossing more than 25 km.This natural space was declared Natural Park in 1985 and comprises an area of 9580 has.The Canyon with its walls, shelves and hollows is a singular regujio of birds, like the common vulture and other protected raptors like different types of eagles, peregrine falcon, hawk, kestrels and diverse nocturnal raptors.
