Sheffield City Centre UK with steel balls - stock photo

Sheffield, UK - January 17, 2014: Sheffield City Centre, Yorkshire, England. The stainless steel spheres, public artworks, are supposed to reprsent raindrops and the water in the pools beneath them changes colour at night thanks to LED lights. There are nine balls in total in the Millenium Square, which was created in 1998 as part of the 'Heart of the City' Project to renovate the city. The choice of steel for the sculptures is a glance backwards at Sheffield's internationally renowned past as a steel-making centre.
