Coral Bleaching (phylum Cnidaria) Global Warming Phi Phi Tropical Rainbow Runner Fish - stock video
An underwater image of a shoal of tropical fish on a dead, bleached coral reef. This hard coral bommie (phylum Cnidaria) is showing major signs of distress and has died. Little coral life remains only bare rock. This 2016 El Nino Global event left many of the worlds coral reefs, including this one, decimated. El Nino is a Global warming phenomenon, compounded by man made carbon dioxide emissions, that raises the sea temperature, causing coral to bleach and die. The dead coral is then rapidly replaced by algae which suffocates life on the reef. This image was taken whilst scuba diving at Phi Phi, Thailand.
