Former USAID administrator defends agency from charges of irresponsibility as nonsense
Former US Agency for International Development Administrator Andrew Natsios says in testimony at a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on funding priorities at the US Agency for International Development that claims of irresponsible aid oversight are nonsense since every line of USAID's work undergoes seven different levels of oversight including Inspector Generals, special Inspector Generals, GAO, OMB, and Congressional committees, while pointing out that aid delivery challenges stem from working in failed states like Sudan where famine threatens two million lives without functioning government, police, or courts.
