The so called Munich Massacre occurred during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Bavaria in West Germany, when members of the Israeli Olympic team were taken hostage and killed by the Palestinian terrorist group named Black September. All together, eleven Israeli athletes and coaches were killed.
