Senator Inhofe observes that many immigrants claiming asylum actually seek economic opportunity

Oklahoma Senator Jim Inhofe says in remarks on a migrant caravan then arriving at the Tijuana checkpoint that in his real life he spent 20 years as a builder and developer, knowing how the border works and border agents, wondering why Congress does not have a solution, noting that migrants claim to be escaping violence and persecution but in reality want to seek the apparent economic opportunities paid for by US taxpayers or to reunite with families as anyone within earshot would, a long-term problem.
