Fountain in Calera de Tango in Chile

Like the workshops of the Paraguay Reductions, it exerted considerable influence on mainstream colonial art and architecture in the Cono Sur. In the 18th century, german Jesuits such as the Jesuit from Bavaria Pater Karl Haimhausen built the Hacienda „Calera de Tango“. It stands only a view kilometers south from Santiago de Chile. At this place, many german Jesuits brothers from Baveria, Franconia and Swabia were operating as artists, crafts men, architects, bell founders and clockmackers.
