The film printing process is shown. Women are seen working in the lab. The camera negative is transferred to another film called a positive. The camera positive is shown as it finishes going through the drying phase of the process. The editor sits at his desk and works on cutting the film. This is why he's known as "the cutter". He is able to watch his progress on a machine called a Moviola.
