Cannes crowd applauds Japanese entry ‘Drive My Car’

Video footage taken on July 11 at the 74th iteration of the Cannes International Film Festival shows Ryusuke Hamaguchi, director of the Japanese entry “Drive My Car,” together with members of the cast, receiving a standing ovation after a screening of the work. Based on a Haruki Murakami story, the film is competition for the highest accolade at the event, the Palme d’Or. Hamaguchi described the three-hour screening as voyage with audience members.
